(Reuters] – Bill Cosby’s civil case on the allegations of him assaulting a girl as a teenager during the mid-1970s will start Wednesday in Santa Monica. But the ex-actor isn’t planning on attending.

Judy Huth sued Cosby for sexual battery in 2014. She claimed that Cosby, a former comedian and actor, brought her to Playboy Mansion, and made her perform sex acts around the age of 15 and 1974. Unspecified damages are sought for her sexual battery, emotional distress and other offenses.

Huth claimed that she met Cosby with a friend at a movie set in a park. Huth said that Cosby had invited Huth and a friend to meet him on the set of a film at a park. Then, he made Huth drunk beer and molested Huth in secluded rooms at his Los Angeles home.

Cosby’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said, “We are confident that the evidence will discredit Plaintiff’s 50-year-old allegation.” Cosby was also confirmed by another lawyer that he will not be there on Wednesday.

Gloria Allred representing Huth said that her client does not want to comment on the matter.

Cosby is 84 and best remembered for his roles as the lovable father and husband in “The Cosby Show” (1980s), earning him the nickname of “America’s Dad.”

After more than 50 women accuse him of sexual assaults, his family-friendly reputation was destroyed.

Cosby was found guilty in 2018 of drugging and abusing Andrea Constand. Constand was an employee at Temple University.

After Cosby served more than 2 years in prison, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court retorted his conviction on June 20, 21.

Cosby was not allowed to face the charges as a former local district attorney had made public promises in 2005 that he would not prosecute him. The March appeal by the prosecutors to review this decision was denied by the U.S. Supreme Court.
