TOKYO (Reuters), Haruhiko Kuroda, Bank of Japan Governor, stated that Monday’s priority for the central bank was to maintain its “powerful and effective” monetary stimulus.

Kuroda stated in a speech that Japan is not currently in a position to warrant tightening monetary policy, because the economy is still recovering from the effects of the pandemic.
