NIO Enters Partnership with Advanced Micro Devices to Supply Chips -Breaking

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ) is a US chipmaker that supplies chips to NIO (NYSE) in China.
AMD’s EPYC processor family will be used by NIO in their HPC (high performance computing) platform. This is said to accelerate AI deep learning training, and reduce product development times, AMD stated in Weibo.
AMD’s chips are only to be used by NIO for vehicle development and not in production vehicles.
NIO uses Qualcomm (NASDAQ-:) chips to control the vehicle’s intelligent cockpit. Nvidia and Mobileye are the smart driving chip suppliers.
