BRUSSELS, (Reuters) – EU legislators and countries agreed on Tuesday to a single port for mobile charging. This was in defiance of opposition by Apple (NASDAQ).

In a statement, the European Parliament announced that USB Type-C “will become the common charging port of all mobile phones, tablets, cameras and other devices in the EU” by the autumn 2024.
