New features coming to iPhones this fall

AppleThe biggest iPhone software upgrade of the year was announced this week.
The software was revealed on Monday Apple’s Worldwide Developer ConferenceThis includes the largest change in the iPhone’s Lock Screen since 2014. It also features improvements to frequently used apps such as Messages and Mail.
Anyone with an iPhone that was released later than 2017 will have it. iPhone 8 is the oldest supported device. If you are looking for these features on an older device, the iPhone 8 may be the best option.
iOS 16 is now available for those who have an Apple Developer account. This beta version of iOS 16 will be made available for public testing in the next month. It will also launch with new iPhones in September and October.
Below are some major changes to look out for:
Lock screens that can be customizedYou will now be able add small widgets that display real-time information, such as the weather forecast and change the font for your clock. Apps will display custom widgets that include information such as sports scores and how close you are to Uber. Apple introduced new wallpapers for the lock screen, including one that features an interactive globe Earth. Notifications are now displayed at the bottom, instead of being on top.
Send and unsend iMessages.New iOS version will feature major improvements to the Messages app. This allows you to send SMS messages (green bubbles), and iMessages. You have 15 minutes to edit or unsend a message sent via iMessaging between Apple users. Although the notification will not be sent to the other person, they can see that the message was edited or recalled. You can also mark unread texts.
Group texting is easier with Android usersAndroid-using IPhone users may already be familiar the Apple tapbacks feature, which allows you to add emoji to your text, such as a thumbs up, thumbs downward or heart emoticon. You’ll now see the text that indicates that a user loves or emphasizes a particular text. These reactions are attached to SMS messages in the new iOS the same as an iMessage.
You can schedule emails in the future.iPhones have a built-in Mail App that is improving. This includes a search feature with more functionality and the ability schedule emailing for future times, such as tomorrow morning at 9 am.

AI automatically sort, edits and translates text, as well as shares images. For the last few years, IPhones were able to make photo albums that are based on specific locations and people. But now the app is using artificial intelligence to automatically share photos with up to six people based on who’s in the photo — such as kids or family members. This means that you can have it set so your child’s partner gets the photo every time you snap a photo of them. Apple has also added artificial intelligence capabilities that translate text from photos and videos. Visual Look Up is the most innovative AI feature. It can take a picture of a person or dog and cut it out, then place it in images or other apps like a sticker.

Apple Wallet offers short-term loans.Apple’s Wallet App, which stores keys, credit cards and other digital passes continues to be a focus area. Apple intends for the Wallet to replace any cash or IDs in your wallet. Apple Pay Later, a Buy Now, Pay Later feature, was introduced by Apple this year. It can be used to purchase anywhere Apple Pay works and you then have four weeks to pay the balance. Apple Wallet 16 in iOS 16 makes it easy to send digital keys and cars via messaging.
Apple Maps allows you to add more stops to your route. Apple Maps will soon allow you to add stops along a route. If you are driving to a destination and plan to meet someone, Apple Maps will let you add their home as your first stop. You don’t need to first enter one place, then move on to the next. These maps are perfect to plan your summer road trip. They also make it easy for anyone with an electric car who needs to locate chargers. Apple’s CarPlay software will be updated next year to take advantage of the maps update. It will also integrate more seamlessly with your car’s hardware.
You have more options to manage notificationsBuilding upon the successes of last year Focus modeApple allows users to set up completely different wallpapers and app settings for different time periods of the day. This includes when they are at work, sleeping, or working. Users can now customize the content and notifications that go in which Focus modes, such as Mail, Calendar and Messages.
“Hey Siri, hang up.”Siri will help you to end a FaceTime call or hang up on a phone call.
Apple’s Home App gets a revamp.Apple has also announced that it will be supporting Matter this week, which is an open standard for smart hardware, such as blinds and locks. Apple also updated the Home app so that multiple cameras can be shown side by side.

Health app: Medication tracking and sleep trackingApple’s new health app allows you to enter your medications as well as how frequently they were taken. Apple revealed Monday that anyone can easily add medication by taking a photograph of the medicine bottle. It can remind users when their medications are due and warn them about possible interactions. Apple Watch owners can monitor their heartbeat, sleep, and temperature in the iPhone health application.
Safety Check.New Safety Check allows you to instantly turn off apps and services shared with your family such as location. Apple claims the Safety Check feature has been developed in collaboration with women’s groups. It is specifically designed to help users stay safe and private, as well as protect their personal data.
You can use your iPhone to be a webcam.iPhone’s excellent photo quality camera can record at 4K and 8K. It would be better to use the iPhone’s excellent camera for Zoom calls than your lower-quality laptop. iOS 16 with macOS 10.1 allows users to use an iPhone as a Webcam. This feature is called Continuity Camera.
