‘Polkadot Hacker House’ Inspires NYC to Put the Hacking Hats On- In addition to the Hackathon we will also host a networking event.

The Web3 Foundation’s flagship project, Polkadot is readying itself to host its networking event titled Polkadot Hacker House in Brooklyn, New York, between June 23 to 28, 2022. This event is an extension to the continuing virtual Polkadot Hackathon North America Edition and aims to reach a wide technical audience.

The event offers networking opportunities for coders and engineers over six days. It also includes mentorship and in-person support. Technical workshops will be held on topics such as Substrate and ink! and XCM and para-chain-specific development.
Participants are free to register. To participate, you must submit an online application to the Polkadot hackathon: North America Edition portal. The event is limited to 200 participants due to physical limitations.
Additionally, there are over 24 tasks and challenges that the team provides for its participants. Participants can explore and compete to win prizes. Polkadot Treasury and other ecosystem groups contributed $600,000.
Speaking of the upcoming event, Web3 Foundation’s Growth Manager Urban Osvald stated: “From workshops to in-person mentorship, the event offers a unique immersion opportunity. Unfortunately, spots are highly limited so be sure to apply as soon as possible!”

The Hackathon forms part of the Global Series, which began last year in Asia Pacific countries. North America Editions will continue until July 11. Participation in this hackathon can be done through five main categories — Interfaces & Experiences, DAO & Governance, Web3 & Tooling, DeFi, and NFTs.
