(Reuters) –Tesla Inc has filed a lawsuit against a California civil right agency accusing the maker of electric cars of race discrimination. The complaint alleges that they rushed to file lawsuits against companies without properly investigating.

Tesla (NASDAQ:), in a 10-page complaint, stated to California’s Office of Administrative Law the Department of Fair Employment and Housing has “underground regulations”, that ignore requirements employers must adhere before they can sue.

DFEH filed a lawsuit in February claiming that Tesla’s Fremont, California, plant, was discriminatory and harassing Black employees in regard to job assignments, discipline, and pay.

Tesla denies any wrongdoing and claims the suit was political motivated. Tesla claims DFEH broke state law when it sued Tesla on Tuesday without notifying Tesla of any of its claims and giving Tesla the chance to settle.
