Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index fell 0.39%, and the NSE lost 0.3% at the closing.

These were the best performers of the session Tata Steel Ltd (NSI:) traded at 1,086.75 after the close, up 1.71%. That’s 18.25 point. State Bank Of India added 1.70%, 7.90 points, to close at 471.30. Titan Company Ltd (NS) was also up 1.34%, or 28.05 to 21328.85 late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Bharti Airtel Ltd., which dropped 3.21% (22.00 points) to close at 663.30 ITC Ltd (NS.:) dropped 2.19% (6.00 points) to 267.90. UPL Ltd. (NS.:) decreased 1.77% (13.20 points) to 733.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which rose 1.70% to 1,086.75, State Bank Of India (BO:) which was up 1.66% to settle at 471.05 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.52% to close at 4,205.10.

Bharti Airtel Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 3.31% at 663.20 in trade late. ITC Ltd. (BO) was also down 2.03% at 268.25. Reliance Industries Ltd. (BO) was at the close with a drop of 1.74% at 2,724.30.

On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1054 to 754, and 59 ended unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 1712 fall and 1495 advance, and 109 ending unchanged.

The index, which tracks the implied volatility for Nifty 50 options (the ), was lower by 2.88%, to 19.84, a new one-month low.

For August delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.13% to $1.849.65 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.56 percent to $120.97 per barrel in July, while August Brent oil contracts rose 1.09 percent or 1.43, to trade at $122.00 per barrel.

USD/INR fell 0.31% at 77.69 while EUR/INR rose 0.2% to 83.29.

At 102.49, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.16%.
