Mercedes-Benz CEO rules out possibility of Chinese blocking minority -Handelsblatt -Breaking

BERLIN (Reuters), Ola Kaellenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz, ruled out two Chinese investors increasing their shares and creating a block minority in an interview with Handelsblatt.

Kaellenius stated that this is not true. Kaellenius said that the company has strong, positive relationships with its investors.

Handelsblatt stated that the two shareholders Baic and Geely founder Eric Li hold 10% each in the German automaker.

Baden-Wuerttemberg is home to Mercedes-Benz’s headquarters. Winfried Kretschmann has also rejected the possibility that Chinese investors might take over.

Kretschmann said in an interview with Handelsblatt that “We wouldn’t allow that at any time.”
