Edge Prepares an Anonymous Crypto Mastercard, but Mastercard Changes Plans -Breaking

Edge Creates an Anonymous Crypto Mastercard. Mastercard Plans ChangedThe creators of Edge crypto wallet aim to decentralize financial operations and ‘bank the unbanked’, however, there might be some obstacles going further that path.
Paul Puey, CEO of NYSE:, announced today that customers can create virtual Mastercards (NYSE:) online with no KYC. ‘Definitely not your actual address, nothing. You can create a virtual card in around 15 seconds inside of Edge’, – says Puey. Although the initial card supported only, Edge CEO from San Diego stated that it would support DASH, (DOGE), and (LTC).

1000 Dollar Limit on Spending and Additional Physical Cards
A fully anonymous virtual Mastercard comes with a staggering $1000 daily spending cap. To fund the virtual Mastercard, the customer must first convert Bitcoin (BTC), or another supported currency, into USD. Then transfer the USD to the card and not withdraw it from a bank account.
Puey mentioned also that the physical Mastercard will cost $20 more. Additionally, the virtual as well as physical Mastercards can be added to Apple Pay (NASDAQ::Pay), while Google Play (NASDAQ:::Play) integration is in development. There won’t be any fees to deposit funds to the card.
What if you have to change your plans?
These plans may have been stopped, however. Despite Edge announcing the new Mastercard today, a representative from Mastercard said that ‘there’s no official involvement’ in EDGE’s product. The card’s dark blue design with the Bitcoin logo was apparently the reason for the dispute.
The partnership between EDGE Bank and Patriot Bank was to release the card. Even though EDGE suggested before that the new card ‘is fully approved by Mastercard’, now the page says it’s under construction and we are yet to see if the private card actually sees the light of day.
