India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 1.68% -Breaking

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
NSE closed with the index losing 1.84% and the market lost 1.68%.
They were the top performers at the session Grasim Industries Ltd (NS): traded at 1,326.50 after the close by rising 1.33%, or 17.40 points. Meanwhile, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. Asian Paints Late trade saw a rise in Ltd. (NS) by 0.82%, or 21.95 point to 2,708.75
They were also the session’s worst performers Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., which dropped 3.94% (or 73.40) to trade at 1,791.80 as of the closing. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS) fell 3.92%, or 231.05 point to finish at 5,667.50 Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NS) fell 3.78%, or 85.65 point to 2,179.80.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which rose 0.78% to 2,708.75, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which was up 0.62% to settle at 4,353.00 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which gained 0.52% to close at 5,510.55.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.96% to 1,792.10 late trade, Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO 🙂 that lost 3.90% at 5,667.85, and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (BO 🙂 was the worst performer at the close.
On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1246, 579, and 53 were unchanged. However, on the Bombay Stock Exchange 1924 was down and 1272 moved on, and 116 remained unchanged.
The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was up by 2.27%, to 19.58.
The August delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.42%, or 7.70, to $1.845.10 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 0.87 percent or 0.72% to reach $122.38 per barrel in July. The August Brent oil contract rose 0.977% or 0.95, to trade at $124.02 per barrel.
USD/INR increased 0.02% at 77.85 while EUR/INR declined 0.10% to 82.249.
At 103.46, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.24%.
