(Reuters) – Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former President Donald Trump, said that she had “checked in” regarding election matters in the wake of the 2020 election. This was after her father’s testimony which showed Trump claimed Ivanka did not believe Trump’s claims of fraud.

On Thursday, a congressional panel investigating the attack on Capitol Jan. 6, 2021 showed recorded testimony. Ivanka Trump stated that she was not convinced by his false claims about 2020 being stolen.

Trump attempted to minimize his daughter’s role in the campaign by posting a Truth Social post Friday. During his four years at the White House, Ivanka Trump was one her father’s closest friends.

Ivanka Trump did not participate in studying or looking at the election results. It was long ago that she checked out the results and, according to me, she only wanted to respect Bill Barr and his position of Attorney General.Trump stated.

Trump was speaking about Ivanka’s April video deposition that Ivanka said she believed the assessment made by William Barr, then-AttorneyGeneral, that there wasn’t any evidence of fraud in the election.

“I respect Attorney general (William) Barr. Ivanka Trump stated that she accepted his words to congressional investigators.

Reuters couldn’t locate a representative for Ivanka Donald. A request to comment by private message was not immediately answered to Trump’s Instagram account.

Soon after Trump’s incendiary speech, Trump addressed thousands of his supporters outside of the White House. He reiterated false claims that the 2020 election was stolen and encouraged them to march on Washington and fight like hell.
