ISTANBUL, (Reuters) – Turkey’s unemployment rate increased to 11.3% in April. However, a seasonal adjusted measure of labor underutilisation dropped 10 percentage points to 21,7% data from Friday.

After peaking at 29.6% on January 20,21, the labour underutilization measure fell steadily for the majority of the year. This was due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that March’s unemployment rate had been revised to 11.2%.

This was a change from the previous month, when it stood at 53.1%.
