Some of the drawbacks to centralized networks include censorship, low scalability, and security concerns. Decentralized networks are also vulnerable because of lack of clarity and high maintenance and setup costs.

One point of failure is common in a centralized system. If the central authority is compromised, it can bring down the entire system — a major disadvantage, especially in systems where security is critical.
