ISTANBUL, (Reuters) – Turkey’s Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati stated Saturday that Turkey’s economy was liberal and would continue its growth after it had taken steps to help.

Nebati addressed businesses in Gaziantep’s southern city. He also stated that rising inflation (which reached an all-time high of 73% last month) was top priority.

A series of measures were taken by the government to tap its bond and bank markets and cool inflation. They also tried to stabilize a falling currency and double down on President Tayyip Erdoan’s insistence not to raise interest rates.
