LOS ANGELES (Reuters), – The second season of the global hit “Squid Game”, Netflix Inc (NASDAQ :), was announced Sunday. This announcement gave hints at what lies ahead in the darker Korean drama.
When it premiered in September 2021, “Squid Game,” became Netflix’s top-rated series. It tells the tale of cash-strapped contestants playing childhood games in order to win life-altering amounts of money. The show inspired many memes, Halloween costumes, and sparked sales of green tracksuits.
Netflix published a letter from Hwang Donghyuk, the director and writer of the show.
Gi-hun’s characters and The Front Man would return, he stated, adding that “the man with ddakji may be back”.
He said, “You’ll be also introduced to Younghee’s partner.”
Young-hee doll is an animatronic motion-sensing doll.
Netflix didn’t say when the next season would air.
