(Reuters) – The Russian subsidiary of Alphabet’s Google (NASDAQ:) has submitted a declaration of bankruptcy, Interfax reported on Friday, citing court online filings.

Following the seizure of its bank account by authorities, the subsidiary made plans to file for bankruptcy. It was unable to pay employees or vendors.

Russia restricted Twitter access (NYSE:), and Meta Platforms Inc’s top social networks, Facebook and Instagram (NASDAQ:).

Google and YouTube’s video hosting site remain accessible for the moment, despite being under severe pressure. Moscow has been particularly critical of YouTube’s handling Russian media. It blocked it.

Anton Gorelkin was the deputy head of State Duma’s information policy committee and said the U.S. company is not in danger of being stopped.
