(Reuters). Elon Musk’s transgender son has asked to alter her name to reflect her new gender identity. “I don’t want to live with my biological father and I do not wish to.”
In April, the petition was filed at Santa Monica’s Los Angeles County Superior Court for a change of name and to obtain a birth certificate that reflects her gender identity. This information was recently reported in online media.
According to PlainSite.org court documents, the 18-year-old Xavier Alexander Musk (ex-Xavier Alexander Musk) has applied to the court for gender recognition changes from male to feminine and registration of her new name.
The online document did not include her name. Justine Wilson is her mother. She divorced Musk in 2008
The rift between Musk’s daughter and her dad, Tesla (NASDAQ:), and SpaceX chief SpaceX who are trying to buy social media platform Twitter for $44 billion (NYSE:) was not explained further.
Reuters emails requesting comments on Monday were not promptly answered by either Musk or the Tesla media office.
Musk expressed his support for Republican Party in May. This was about one month after the gender-change document and the name had been filed. His elected representatives supported a series of bills that would restrict transgender rights across the nation.
Musk commented on transgender transgenders choosing their preferred pronouns. Musk tweeted in 2020: “I absolutely support transgender people, but all of these pronouns [are an esthetic nightmare]”
