U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.02% -Breaking

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index gained 1.93% at close to NYSE.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ.) was the best performer of the session, rising 6.94% or 3.35 point to close at 51.62. Apple Inc (NASDAQ.) gained 2.27 percent or 3.86 point to finish at 174.07, while UnitedHealth Group Incorporated rose 2.06% to 513.61 (NYSE.

These were the worst performers of the session. Nike Inc (NYSE 🙂 dropped 0.68% (0.91 points) to close at 132.09. Home Depot Inc (NYSE 🙂 dropped 0.40% or 1.28 point to close at 315.77 Caterpillar Inc (NYSE 🙂 fell 0.02%, or 0.04 points, to 222.13

The top performers on the S&P 500 were NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 9.82% to 281.50, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was up 6.94% to settle at 51.62 and Monolithic power Systems Inc (NASDAQ) gained 6.66% and closed at 494.62.

EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE :), which fell 6.13% at 287.84 in the late trade, Nielsen Holdings PLC [NYSE :] which dropped 3.79% at 22.35, and Occidental Petroleum Corporation(NYSE 🙂 that was down 3.53% at 57.73 at close.

Top performers of the NASDAQ Composite are InMed Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 43.05% towards 1.08 Global Internet of People Inc (NASDAQ) was up 38.35% and settled at 1.84 AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd (NASDAQ:), which saw a 34.89% increase to close at 4.91

They were among the most disappointing. LiqTech International Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 36.32% at 2.98 in late trading, Vicinity Motor Corp. (NASDAQ:), which lost 25.98% and settled at 2.45 Volcon Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 17.87% to 2.16 by the end.

On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2071 to 11102, 120 ending unchanged.

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 1.26% (or 24.45) to $1.961.75 a troy-ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 3.04%, or 3.49, to $111.44 per barrel. The May Brent oil contract dropped 2.95%, or 3.59, to $118.01 per barrel.

EUR/USD was steady at 0.5%, 1.10 and USD/JPY at 0.96% respectively.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.8% to 98.79
