Top-Performing Cryptos for the WeekThere have been signs that the cryptocurrency market is recovering and it spent most of this week in green. Ether, the market leader, and Ether rose 8.25% respectively. But Altcoins enjoyed more dramatic bull runs which resulted in greater gains.

ETC’s major driver has been the expectation that Ethereum (ETH), miners will switch to mining Ethereum Classic. Ethereum’s Proof of Work (PoW), to Proof of Stake(PoS) migration is anticipated this summer. This will mean that ETH miners must find alternatives to using their PoW mining equipment.
Loopring + 57%
Loopring’s (LRC) price exploded on Wednesday, rocketing up by more than 44% overnight to reach $1.21, highs not seen since the beginning of February. LRC’s sudden rise was an extension of its uptrend that began last Friday (March 18th), when LRC had been rising steadily from its $0.69 lowest.
The price boosted was facilitated in part by the integration of video game retailer GameStop (NYSE:) with Loopring, and the launch of their NFT marketplace beta on Ethereum’s Layer-2 protocol. According to Loopring, the partnership will allow creators to create NFTs via Loopring at a lower price than gas.
ApeCoin +48%

APE experienced correction from then. It dropped to $9.64 on Monday. But the token soon regained some its value by climbing 48% higher to $14.28.
Its price rallies were driven by the hype surrounding the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s new coin. But, APE’s recent price rise was highly related to Ethereum whales’ interest. WhaleStats reported that over the last 24 hours, APE was most commonly traded among such whales.
(AXS) + 47%
Axie Infinity’s (AXS) price has rallied by over 47 percent in the past 7 days, briefly reaching $73.90 today and bringing the $4.4 billion play-to-earn gaming project back into the top 35 biggest digital currencies.
The price surge is thought to be related to the upcoming Axie Infinity gaming ecosystem update and release of the newer version called ‘Axie Infinity:Origin‘. Major updates are expected to be included in the new version, which will include improvements in graphics and user interface as well as gaming mechanics. According to the Axie team, the updated version will be available in the first quarter 2022.
Qtum (QTUM) +47%
This week, Proof of Stake (PoS), blockchain Qtum, (QTUM), saw impressive gains of 48 percent as the token climbed in value to $8.83 Friday. The increase continues its upward trend from the $5.5 low a week ago.
QTUM, which has a market capitalization in excess of $926m, is the 90th most valuable crypto. But, QTUM is also an Official Partner of Alphabet and Amazon (NASDAQ).
Although there are no clear fundamental reasons as to why the token is rallying, crypto industry experts speculate that it may be related to the upcoming ‘Binance Blockchain Week’ in Dubai, for which QTUM features as the premier sponsor. The token launched multiple marketing competitions as well as facilitated offline staking using the Guarda wallet.
