Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The Tokyo close saw the stock rise 0.69%

These were the best performers of the session Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO): The close traded at 530.00, up 16.23%, or 74.00 point. Meanwhile, Komatsu Ltd. (TYO:) Added 8.52% or 253.50 Points to End at 3,230.00 Mitsui & Co., Ltd. In late trade, (TYO) saw a 6.08% increase or 194.00 point to 3,386.00

These were the worst performers of the session. Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO-), fell 9.29% to 5,630.00 points, and traded at 5,500.00 by the close. Rakuten Inc (TYO) fell 5.01%, or 46.00 points, to close at 872.00. Softbank Group Corp. (TYO) dropped 2.27% (or 120.00 points) to 5,170.00.

Stocks that are rising outnumbered those in decline on Tokyo Stock Exchange were 2228, 1337, and 215 respectively.

Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. shares rose to 52-week peak levels; an increase 16.23%, or 75.00 to 530.00. Rakuten Inc. (TYO) shares fell 52 weeks to their lowest point, losing 5.01% (46,000 to 872.00).

The implied volatility index of Nikkei’s 225 options was at a 1 month high. It rose by 11.01% from 27.83 to reach a record.

The June delivery of crude oil was 0.28 percent higher or $0.30 at $108.56 per barrel. Brent oil, which was due for delivery July 28, rose 0.38 or 0.34% to reach $111.28/barrel, while June Gold Futures fell 1.84 or 0.10% to trade at $1.873.86 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY increased by 0.20%, to 130.40. EUR/JPY decreased by 0.20%, to 136.89.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.6% to 103.97
