Italy freezes superyacht linked to Vladimir Putin

WASHINGTON — On Friday, the Italian government blocked the port from a yacht linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Italy’s Finance Ministry stated that an investigation had revealed significant economic and business connections between the yacht’s owner and prominent Russian officials and those sanctioned by Moscow for its 2014 annexation. Scheherazade, a Cayman Island-flagged superyacht measuring nearly 460 feet in length, is currently moored at Marina di Carrara in Italy.

German authorities stated that last month they had seized the world’s largest superyachtAfter official confirmation, the vessel was linked to Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov (business tycoon).
Dilbar, the yacht named after Usmanov’s mom, is over 500ft long and comes with two helipads as well as the biggest indoor swimming pool that has ever been installed on a private boat. According to the Treasury Department, Usmanov’s yacht has a value of $735 million.
