REUTERS/Piroschka van de Wouw(Reuters) – ABN Amro, a Dutch bank, reported Wednesday a first quarter net profit of 295 million Euros ($310.6 Million), exceeding market expectations. This was due to the reopening Dutch society after pandemic restrictions were lifted.
A poll conducted by the company showed that analysts expected a profit of between 259 and 359 million euros for January to March. The bank suffered a 54-million loss in the same time last year after having to pay a heavy money laundering penalty.
