India restricts sugar exports for the first time in 6 years

It asked that traders obtain permission to trade the sweetener abroad from the period of June 1 through October 31, according to a Tuesday notification.
India may restrict sugar exports according to trade and government officials, possibly limiting this season’s exports to 10 million tonnes.
