(Reuters) – Meta Platforms Inc announced Tuesday that its Class A common stock would trade on Nasdaq on Tuesday under the ticker symbol META’ before the market opens on June 9 replacing the current ticker symbol FB’.

It changed its company name Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:) To Meta Platform Inc October 2013 in a brand rebrand. It focuses on creating the “metaverse,” which is a virtual community that hopes to be the next generation of the mobile web.

The company has used the ticker FB since its initial public offering back in 2012.
