Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE:) were the top performers during the session. They rose 2.34%, or 4.28 points, to trade at 187.15 by the closing. Meanwhile, Chevron Corp (NYSE 🙂 gained 1.91% (or 3.37 points) to reach 180.20. Apple Inc was up 1.76% (or 2.57 points) to 148.71 during late trade.

Walmart Inc (NYSE) fell 1.50 points or 1.20% to settle at 123.37 by the closing. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc NASDAQ: fell 0.90%, or 0.39 point to close at 43.00 Home Depot Inc (NYSE 🙂 dropped 0.70% to 301.77, or 2.12 point.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 5.85% to 51.39, JM Smucker Company (NYSE:) which was up 5.72% to settle at 130.31 and Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:), which saw a gain of 4.61% and closed at 145.08.

The bottom performers were The Mosaic Company (NYSE:), which fell 4.00% to 56.18 in late trading Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 2.80% to close at 81.48, and JB Hunt Transport Services Inc. (NASDAQ:), which dropped 2.49% at 176.57 by the end.

Top performers of the NASDAQ Composite are Aeroclean Technologies LLC (NASDAQ): The price of a NASDAQ stock was up 154.74%, to 12.10 Apply UV Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 96.40% to settle at 2.18 and Kiromic Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 79.22% to close at 0.50.

The worst performers were MoonLake Immunotherapeutics (NASDAQ:) which was down 23.50% to 6.12 in late trade, Pmv Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 21.70% to settle at 10.86 and AN2 Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ) was at its lowest point of 20.15%, closing at 10.54

On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2182-980, and 116 ended unchanged.

Shares of APA Corporation (NASDAQ) rose 5.85% to 5 year highs, or 2.84 to 51.39. Valero Energy Corporation’s shares rose by 4.61%, or 6.39 to 145.08. Chevron Corp shares (NYSE:), rose to new highs, up 1.91% (3.37 to 180.20). Shares in Pmv Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 21.70% or 3.01 to 10.86.

The August Gold Futures were up 0.3%, or 11.65, to $1855.35 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.47 percent or $119.97 to reach $119.97 per barrel. The August Brent oil contract increased 1.28%, or 1.53, to trade at $121.04 per barrel.

EUR/USD was steady at 1.07 and USD/JPY fluctuated between 0.13% and 1.07.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.3% to 102.32
