Dick DeGuerin said to the outlet, “We know that he tested positive for Covid-19. His condition was terrible on Thursday. He couldn’t breathe and he had trouble speaking.

According to the prosecution, Berman had been supposed to talk with police about an alibi that she gave to the real estate heir after his wife disappeared in 1982. (Kathie Durst was never found, and is presumed to be dead.

Durst, NBC News reports, then fled to Galveston Texas where he disguised his identity as Dorothy Ciner.

Durst later dismembered and killed Morris Black in Texas in September 2001. However, he was cleared in court due to self-defense claims.

Durst returned to the limelight after a 2015 HBO Series entitled “The Jinx: The Life and Death Robert Durst,” in which he confessed to his murders.

A microphone that Durst was wearing recording him in the bathroom whispering to himself: “You’re caught! Was that really what I did? They were all killed, naturally.”

Durst was detained in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2015.
