Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index gained 0.21% at the close of NYSE. It also reached a new record high. However, it fell 0.11% and lost 0.82%.

They were the top performers at the session American Express Company (NYSE:) traded at 187.08 after the close by rising 5.42%, or 9.61 points. In the meantime, Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE.) gained 1.65% (or 6.73%) to finish at 414.32. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated, (NYSE.) was up 1.56% (6.88 points to 449.16) in late trading.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ;) fell 11.68% or 6.54 to end at 49.46. Honeywell International Inc. (NASDAQ) fell 3.17 percent or 7.12 to trade at 217.40. Dow Inc. was down 1.45% (0.86 points) to 58.40.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were SVB Financial Group (NASDAQ:) which rose 6.80% to 753.12, Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:) which was up 6.07% to settle at 87.23 and eBay Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 5.75% to close at 80.59.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ :), which fell 11.68% to 48.46 in late trading, was among the worst-performing companies. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ) which fell 5.05% to settle for 324.61 Twitter Inc (NYSE:) was at its lowest point of 4.83%, closing at 62.24.

Phunware Inc. (NASDAQ:), which rose 471.24% and reached 8.7400 was the top performer on the NASDAQ Composite. Comment Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:), which rose 138.44% and settled at 2.1700 Digital World Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:), which saw a 98.86% increase to reach 90.48.

The worst performers were Metacrine Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 57.44% to 1.630 in late trade, Xiaobai Maimai Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 38.51% to settle at 5.6200 and Ocular Therapeutix Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 36.20% to 6.91 by the end.

The New York Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 1606 to 15,88, and ended unchanged. On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange however, 2180 were down and 1429 moved ahead, while 156 finished unchanged.

SVB Financial Group’s shares rose 6.80%, or 47.98 to 7533.2. Stocks of eBay Inc. (NASDAQ) rose to record highs by 5.75%, or 4.38 to 80.9.59. American Express Company’s shares reached all-time highs with a gain of 5.42%, or 9.61 to 187.08. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated shares (NYSE:) reached all-time highs with a 1.56% increase or 6.88 to 449.16. Phunware Inc. (NASDAQ:), rose to 52 week highs, rising 471.24%. That’s a rise of 7.2100 to 8.7400. Shares in Metacrine Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 57.44% or 2.200 to 1.630. Digital World Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ) shares rose to record highs. They rose by 98.86%, or 44.98 to 90.448. Ocular Therapeutix Inc shares (NASDAQ:), fell by 36.20%, or 3.92 to 6.91, to their 52-week lows.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 2.80% to 15.43.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was at $1794.45 per troy ounce, an increase of 0.70%. In commodities trading, crude oil for December delivery rose 2.06%, or 1.70, to $84.20 per barrel. The December Brent oil contract rose 1.54%, or 1.30, to trade at $85.91 per barrel.

EUR/USD rose 0.18%, to 1.1643, and USD/JPY dropped 0.47% to 113.43

At 93.597, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.17%.
