Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index climbed 0.90% and gained 0.18% at the close of NYSE.

Walt and his team were the top performers during the session. Disney Company (NYSE :), rose 1.53% or 2.59 point to trade at 172.11 at the close. In the meantime, Home Depot Inc (NYSE.) gained 1.44% (or 5.27 points) to close at 371.26, while Walmart Inc was up 1.6% (or 1.72 points) to 150.06 in trade late.

These were the worst performers of the session. American Express Company (NYSE :), fell 2.5% or 4.77 point to trade at 182.31 by the close. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ: ) finished at 207.63 with a decline of 0.77% (1.61 points). Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE: ) fell 0.66%, or 0.35 points, to 52.58

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 12.66% to 1024.86, Nucor Corp (NYSE) was up 6.93% and settled at 109.42. Coterra Energy Inc, (NYSE) gained 5.97% to end at 22.56.

Ball Corporation (NYSE :), which fell 5.13% to 85.48 in late trading, was the worst performer. Henry Schein Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.61% to settle for 76.21 HCA Holdings Inc (NYSE:), which fell 4.46%, to 241.81 by the close.

These were the top-performing NASDAQ Composite performers RISE Education Cayman Ltd (NASDAQ) increased 79.73%, to 1.490 GreenPro Capital Corp (NASDAQ) was up 72.94% and settled at 1.4700. PAE Inc (NASDAQ:), which gained 67.46% and closed at 9.880.

Erytech Pharma SA ADR(NASDAQ:) was among the worst-performing stocks, falling 39.96% to $3.290 in late trade. Eyenovia Inc (NASDAQ) which fell 38.91% to settle for 4.020 SG Blocks Inc (NASDAQ) was at its lowest point of 23.96%, closing at 3.650

The New York Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining ones by 2054, 1208 and 1208, respectively. 115 was unchanged. On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange 2295 rose while 1423 fell, and 156 was unchanged.

Tesla Inc shares rose 12.66% to 115.18 and 1024.86, respectively. Home Depot Inc. (NYSE:), shares rose by 1.44%, or 5.27 to 372.26. Stocks of Erytech Pharma SA AD (NASDAQ:) plunged to new lows, losing 39.96% (3.190-3.290). PAE Inc shares (NASDAQ:), rose to 52 week highs. This was an increase of 67.46%, or 3.980 to 9880.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 1.23% to 15.24.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.66% to $1808.15 an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.18 percent to reach $83.58/barrel, and January Brent oil, which rose 0.36 or 0.43% to trade at $85.00/barrel.

EUR/USD fell 0.3% to 1.1611 while USD/JPY rose by 0.2% to 113.72.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.2% at 93.812.
