(Reuters) – Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ) announced a surge in third quarter revenue Tuesday. This was due to cryptocurrency trading helping offset retail investors’ declines after the frenzied rise in “meme stocks”, earlier in this year.

Robinhood posted $365 million in total revenue for its quarter ending Sept. 30 as a public company. This is compared with $270 million last year.
