ROME (Reuters – Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has been told by her doctors to take a rest for the next two weeks and to avoid any official visits. Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to the monarch, aged 95, this week.

Concerns have been raised about Elizabeth’s health after she cancelled several planned trips and spent the night in hospital with an unknown, but not COVID-19-related, illness. This was her first overnight hospital stay since years.

“I spoke to her majesty and she’s on very good form,” Johnson, who speaks to the queen every Wednesday to give her a weekly update, told Channel 4 news on Saturday.

“She’s just got to follow the advice of her doctors and get some rest and I think that’s the important thing. Her well wishes are shared by everyone.

Elizabeth, queen of 15 realms (including Australia, Canada, New Zealand), has been enjoying her rest at Windsor Castle ever since she was admitted to hospital overnight 10 days ago for “preliminary inquiries”.

The monarch is known for being in good health and regularly fulfilled official public duties despite the fact that she was aging. She had been scheduled to meet world leaders at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow next Wednesday, but had to cancel her visit to Northern Ireland.

Buckingham Palace announced that she was unable to attend an important event held at Royal Albert Hall on Nov. 13, hosted by British military charity. But, Buckingham Palace maintained that her intention to attend Sunday’s main service of national remembrance to veterans is a very significant event for her.

According to a palace source, the queen was in good spirits. She had also recorded a video address at the conference for the COP26 delegate. A source stated that additional rest was necessary as a precaution.

After being informed the rest of her story, the queen appeared happy and well in video footage that was released by the palace. She took part in several virtual events by videolink.
