REUTERS/Lucy NicholsonWASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Saturday that foreigners under 18 who travel to the United States via air are not required to undergo self-quarantine on arrival.
Rochelle Wilensky, Director of the CDC signed a modified order on Saturday clarifying that international children not vaccinated for COVID-19 are allowed to remain in America without isolation for up to seven days. A Monday CDC directive had caused concern among foreign travellers that the children of unvaccinated travelers would be required to remain in quarantine after their arrival.
The United States will lift the unusual travel restrictions that had barred many non-U.S. citizens from traveling within Europe. The new rules require that nearly all adult foreign air travelers must be immunized against COVID-19.
