LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) – The film sequel to Disney’s animated “Black Panther” will be off-line for at least a month in order to let Letitia Wright recover from an injury. This was reported by Hollywood publications on Friday.

Wright, Shuri’s character in the movie about a Black superhero, sustained an injury while performing a stunt in August. Variety reported that she needs additional time to recover. Although the nature of Wright’s injury was not revealed, it was originally described as mild.

Disney spokesmen said production on Black Panther Wakanda would be suspended for one week beginning Nov. 22, and will resume early in 2022.

It is unlikely that the production halt will affect the November 2022 release date of the movie.

Wright (28), played T’Challa, the younger brother of late Chadwick Boseman’s tech genius in the movie “Black Panther.” It was one of the most successful movies of 2018, with a worldwide box office record of $1.3 million. After his sudden death in 2020 from cancer, Boseman wasn’t recast.

Although details about the plot are not known, Wright will likely play a larger role in the sequel.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, filming continued after Wright was injured in August. However, Ryan Coogler has shot every footage without Wright.
