WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The White House urged employers Monday to push workers to get vaccines as President Joe Biden’s legal challenge to his vaccine rule is advancing through the courts.

On Saturday, the U.S. federal appels court issued an order freezing Biden’s attempt to make COVID-19 shots mandatory for all workers in U.S. firms with 100 or more employees. The ruling cited “grave statutory” and constitutional issues.

According to the U.S. 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, this ruling is final. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled after many Republican-led States filed legal challenges against this new rule. It is due to be in effect January 4.

When asked by the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre (deputy press secretary), Karine Jean-Pierre said that people shouldn’t wait. It’s important and crucial to get people vaccinated. Delaying will cause more sickness outbreaks.

COVID-19 causes approximately 1100 deaths per day in the United States, many of whom are unvaccinated. Over 757,000 Americans have been killed by COVID-19.

Jean-Pierre explained, “We want to end this pandemic. And we know how to do it is by getting people vaccinated. So people shouldn’t wait.”
