Applied Materials posted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.94 on $6.12B in revenue. Investing.com polled analyst to predict EPS at $1.96 for $6.38B in revenue.

Applied Materials shares have increased 83% since the start of the year. However, they are still down 0.19% from their 52-week high of $159.00 on November 16. They outperform the, which is up 27.89% over the start of this year.

Applied Materials reported on the earnings matched by Apple, which on October 28 reported EPS at $1.24 per share on revenues of $83.36B. This compares to Apple’s forecasts of EPS at $1.24 for revenue of $85.05B.

Microsoft beat all expectations with a first quarter earnings per share of $2.27 on revenues of $45.32B. This compares to a forecast of EPS at $2.08 for revenue of $44B.
