WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Two Republican appointees at the Federal Trade Commission were asked by the White House for any mounting evidence of illegal conduct that could be behind the high prices.

Christine Wilson, Noah Phillips, and Christine Wilson (FTC Commissioners) asked White to provide evidence so that they could consider the next steps. The President Joe Biden spoke last week to Lina Khan, FTC Chair, that there is “growing evidence of anti-consumer behaviour by oil and natural gas companies”. He urged the commission to “further investigate what’s happening in oil and natural gas markets.”
