Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The Tokyo close saw the currency drop 0.65%, to a 1-month high.

They were the top performers at the session Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. T:, which rose 11.3% or 555.0 points at close to trade at 5440.0 Meanwhile, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. The Tokyo Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing stock by 2599, 989 and 186 respectively.

Softbank Group Corp.’s shares fell 52 weeks ago to their lowest point; they lost 5.10%, 301.0 and 5599.0 respectively.

USD/JPY improved by 0.38%, to 113.18. EUR/JPY climbed 0.40% to 128.13.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.2% at 96.040.
