EU regulators pause investigation into Nvidia, ARM deal -Breaking

BRUSSELS (Reuters), – EU antitrust regulators suspended their investigation into Nvidia’s bid for British designer ARM (NASDAQ:) while they waited to receive more information.

The European Commission has stopped clocking the previous Nov. 25 deadline. These delays are common in companies trying to collect data from customers who have experienced staff shortages and lockdown restrictions since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week, Arm was stopped by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. This lawsuit sought to stop Arm from being acquired by Nvidia (the largest maker of artificial intelligence (AI), and graphics chips in the United States).

Two months ago, the EU competition watchdog had warned that the agreement could increase prices and reduce innovation.

CMA in Britain, an antitrust body has said that it would also open an investigation into the transaction.
