Ford expects to triple electric Mustang output by 2023 -Breaking

(Reuters) – Ford Motor Co (NYSE:) Co plans to triple its production of the all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV by 2023 to more than 200,000 units annually in North America and Europe. This was stated by Jim Farley, Chief Executive Officer.

Ford’s top executive announced last week that it was targeting EV production of 600,000. This figure would be achieved by adding its Lightning pickup truck and E-Transit van.

Ford North America chief operating officer Lisa Drake said the optimism of the company was due to increasing demand for F-150 Lightning pickups, which has retail reservations close to 200,000.

Automotive News had earlier reported http:// Friday that Ford delayed the production of electric Explorer and Lincoln Aviator crossovers for approximately one-and-a-half years in order to improve the manufacturing capacity of the Mustang Mach-E SUVs.
