Biden to speak on Jan. 6 anniversary of U.S. Capitol attack -White House -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – On the Jan. 6, anniversary of the fatal attack on America’s Capitol by Trump supporters in 2016, President Joe Biden is expected to make a speech.

Jen Psaki (White House Press Secretary) stated at a press briefing that she believes it safe to state that Americans will hear from him.

According to her, details have yet not been completed.

On the morning of the riot four people were killed and one Capitol officer was injured while protecting Congress. Hundreds of officers sustained injuries during Trump’s multiple-hour attack, which saw them being attacked by Trump supporters. Four other officers also lost their lives.

Trump, a former Republican president, has been accused inciting the rioters who marched up to the Capitol following hearing Trump speak from the White House. Trump assured his supporters that he wouldn’t concede the Nov. 3, election, and urged them all to fight like hell before heading to the Capitol where they were about to witness the Democrat Biden win.

The attack on Capitol has led to more than 700 arrests. An investigation by the congressional select committee into the assault on Capitol Hill is underway. This includes Trump’s actions as well as his attempts to overturn election results.

Trump stated Tuesday that he will hold a press conference Jan. 6, to address the events.
