(Reuters) – Tencent Holdings’ Riot Games announced Monday that it had agreed to pay $100 Million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging gender discrimination against California state agencies, current or former employees and other Californians.

According to the company, it would pay $80million to all members of the class action suit. This includes current and past full-time female employees as well as temporary agency contractors who have worked in California from November 2014 through present.

An additional $20 million will be paid towards attorneys’ fees and miscellaneous expenses, Riot Games said in a statement.

Riot also stated, “In order to ensure transparency and accountability and to maintain ongoing transparency and accountability,” that its internal reporting and pay-equity processes would be monitored for three years by a third party approved jointly by Riot and California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

The court has yet to approve the final settlement, and a hearing is expected within the next few months.

The lawsuit was filed in November 2018 by now-former employees Melanie McCracken and Jess Negrón, alleging gender discrimination as well as sexual harassment and misconduct at Riot Games, the Washington Post reported https://wapo.st/32tEApi on Monday. According to the report, two investigations were launched by state agencies in California following the suit.
