Biden considers Raskin as top Fed banking regulator

(Reuters) -U.S. President Joe Biden is considering Sarah Bloom Raskin for a top role at the Federal Reserve as part of a slate of three nominees for central bank board seats, the Wall Street Journal reported https://www.wsj.com/articles/biden-eyes-raskin-as-top-fed-banking-regulator-11640709376?mod=latest_headlines on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, Raskin was previously a Fed governor, and a Treasury Department official.

According to the report, Lisa Cook is a Michigan State University professor in economics and international relations. Philip Jefferson, a North Carolina professor and administrator, was also mentioned as being candidates for Fed Board seats.

The White House didn’t immediately reply to Reuters’ request for comment. For comment, Jefferson, Cook, and Raskin couldn’t reach them.
