(Reuters) – Symone, a former chief spokesperson and senior advisor to U.S. Vice president Kamala Harris will join Comcast Corp. (NASDAQ:) for MSNBC’s new shows across cable and streaming. The network announced Monday.

Sanders will begin hosting MSNBC this spring on weekends, and “The Choice form MSNBC” streaming video service by Peacock. Washington DC will host her.

Sanders resigned from Harris’s office in December last year. Sanders worked previously for President Joe Biden and frequently traveled with Harris to both domestic and international destinations.

Sanders was a 2016 presidential candidate for Senator Bernie Sanders. She then became an advisor on Biden’s 2020 campaign. Biden’s support was strengthened by her advocacy on television.

In her memoir she also stated that she wanted to be the White House press secretary. She was the first Black woman in the position. However, the opportunity was not available in 2021.

MSNBC announced Monday that “her program will examine issues at the intersections of culture, politics and race, and breakdown how Washington decisions impact voters, industries and communities across America.”

The network stated that she would interview officials from government and policy makers.
