REUTERS/Paresh David//File photo(Reuters) – Alphabet NASDAQ: Google Inc temporarily requires weekly COVID-19 screenings for all persons entering Google office or facility in the United States. CNBC published the report on Friday.
The report stated that anyone entering a Google U.S. workplace will have to undergo a negative screening, report on their immunization status, and be fitted with surgical-grade masks.
According to the report, this temporary measure of weekly testing was taken as Omicron variants of highly contagious Omicron virus surged in the country.
Google has not yet responded to Reuters’s request for comment.
Google stated last month it had delayed its worldwide return-to office plan from January because of growing concerns about the Omicron version.
According to CNBC’s December report, Google was among the first to request that its workers work remotely during the pandemic.
