New York City has won the battle against highly contagious Omicron Covid-19 variant, as the number of cases is declining, Mayor Eric Adams stated Tuesday morning.

Adams said that New York City’s average number of cases per day has fallen below 20,000 in seven days. That is half the amount of cases reported earlier January, when it was nearly 43,000. Adams made this statement to journalists at a conference. Also, the city reported that there was a decline in Covid hospitalizations. They fell from 6,500 to 5,800 patients as of Sunday.

Adams declared, “We’re winning because we’re resilient.”

Some areas that saw an initial surge in the omicron have now reported a decrease. slowing number of cases.
