Beyond Meat Gains as Pepsico JV Gets Going with Vegan Jerky Snack -Breaking

Investing.com – Beyond Meat stock (NASDAQ:) traded 3% higher in premarket Thursday on reports the company’s joint venture with PepsiCo (NASDAQ:) has launched its first product in the market.

This joint venture was established a year ago and focuses on the creation, production, and marketing of plant-based snacks. Beyond Meat hopes to leverage Pepsico’s wide marketing reach to drive sales of its products.

ConAgra Foods (NYSE) is another competitor that already offers plant-based snacks.

Beyond Meat launched its first two products this month under its Yum! Partnership, after being slow in launching new products. Brands (NYSE

Yum! Brands’ KFC is now selling Beyond Meat’s plant-based fried chicken at its U.S. restaurants while the restaurant chain’s Pizza Hut outlets in Canada are retailing plant-based Beyond Italian sausage crumbles.

Beyond Meat’s partnership with Yum! The partnership with Yum! was signed in February 2013. It will also create menu items based on plant ingredients for Taco Bell restaurants over the “next several years”.
