Toyota to curb more production in Japan as COVID spreads -Breaking

TOKYO, Reuters Toyota Motor (NYSE:) Corp has slowed production in 11 Japanese plants due to rising COVID-19 infection rates among workers and parts suppliers. It announced this Thursday.

A Toyota spokesperson stated that this disruption could cause production cuts of approximately 47,000 units.

Toyota said Tuesday that it expected to miss its annual goal of building 9 million cars because it didn’t have enough chips. On March 31, the company will finish its business year.

Since the beginning of this year, there has been an increase in Omicron coronavirus cases in Japan. The number of daily coronavirus infections rose to 46,199 on Thursday.
