PARIS (Reuters), – The global helicopter market is undergoing a mixed recovery, but it will take between two and three years for the levels of pre-crisis. This was stated Wednesday by the head of Airbus’ helicopters division.

Bruno Even, chief executive of Airbus Helicopters said that the first signs of recovery were evident in the world market. He added that this number has increased by 40% between 2020 and 2021.

Reporters were told by him that it will take two-three years to recover the levels prior to the crisis. However, the trend is present. He also said that he expects trends from 2021 to continue in 2022.

According to the world’s biggest commercial helicopter manufacturer, deliveries increased 13% to 338 units by 2021 from 300 units in 2020.

Deliveries outpaced new orders, 419 gross orders being placed in 2021 or 414 net orders after cancelations.

The order volume rose dramatically from 289 gross and 268 net coronavirus-related orders, respectively, in 2020.
