Amgen (NASDAQ 🙂 announced Monday that the fourth quarter beat analyst forecasts, and that revenue fell below expectations.

Amgen posted earnings per share (EPS) of $4.36 on $6.85B in revenue. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted an EPS of 4.07 for $6.88B in revenue.

Amgen shares have fallen 0% since the start of the year. However, they are still 14.30% below their 52-week high of $260.82 on April 21st 2021. The Nasdaq is also down by 10.41% since the beginning of the year.

Amgen shares gained 2.9% in trading after-hours due to the report.

Amgen and other healthcare sector leaders report this month

Amgen’s announcement follows a UnitedHealth earnings beat on January 19th, reporting EPS at $4.48 per share on revenues of $73.74B. Forecasts for EPS were $4.3 on revenues of $72.98B.

J&J had beat expectations on January 25 with fourth quarter EPS of $2.13 on revenue of $24.8B, compared to forecast for EPS of $2.12 on revenue of $25.28B.
