Italy’s competition watchdog clears Telecom Italia fiber scheme -Breaking

REUTERS/Yara NardiMILAN (Reuters – Italy’s competition watchdog announced Thursday that it has approved Telecom Italia FiberCop, a unit co-investment scheme that targets increasing fiber rollout throughout the country (MI:).
According to the watchdog, it has accepted Telecom Italia’s (TIM) commitments and those of co-investors Fastweb. Fastweb is a unit from Swisscom, Tiscali, U.S. investment funds KKR, which was submitted following an investigation that began in December 2020.
TIM and FiberCop investors have agreed to comply with a series of promises aimed at supporting development and competition in the fiber industry.
